Keeping your kids quiet while you study

August 22, 2012

As a parent, you know how difficult it can be to keep your kids occupied, happy and quiet while you're trying to get work done around the house. Once you take advantage of grants for parents and scholarships for moms to return to school, you'll need as much downtime as possible to pursue your degree.

Luckily, there are ways you can calm your child down without going to too much trouble. Whether you need to cram for an upcoming exam or you have a paper to write, your kids don't have to get in your way.

Pennsylvania State University recommends getting crafty with your kids and making toys they can use while you're away. For instance, creating sock puppets can give your children items to use to entertain themselves as you work on your own projects.

If you don't have time to make crafts for your kids, take a quick trip to the store and buy items such as Play-Doh, construction paper and glue sticks for your children to use at home. These products can translate into hours of fun for your kids. Although it may seem difficult to keep everyone quiet, you'd be surprised at how easy it can be with the right toys and crafts.
