First, take your time when it comes to comparing prices. Once you narrow down a list of potential computers, see where you can get the best deal, whether it's online or in-store. If you choose to buy one from a store near your home, see if you can play around with the product before you make the purchase.
Next, don't count out refurbished goods when shopping. Refurbished computers are less expansive than new models because they had to be resent to the manufacturer for repairs. However, these items tend to be in good working condition at a fraction of the price.
