Keep your priorities straight with a journal when heading back to school

August 25, 2011

College can be an all-encompassing endeavor, but it's important that you keep your priorities in check to effectively balance motherhood and school. One approach is to keep a journal of your experiences, from the college scholarship process up to the completion of your degree.

A journal is a wonderful way to get your thoughts and aspirations down on paper in order to keep your mind grounded throughout the process. Set some daily goals for yourself so you can outline your small accomplishments which will collectively add up to your main goal of completing your degree. This will be an ideal outlet to reflect on what you've done and what you intend to do next.

This is also a great way of planning out your schedule to be able to effectively balance your family and school responsibilities. A journal might not work for everyone, but if you're a person who likes structure and being able to put your thoughts down on paper, it could be the perfect way to plan for what's down the road.
