Avoiding the costly expense of day care

October 24, 2011

Mothers who are interested in going to college to further their careers have a number of potential expenses to worry about. Childcare is going to be a major expense if a prospective student can't find extra time in her schedule, but there are a few avenues to look into that can help mothers avoid this additional cost.

When a mother is looking into college scholarships and grants and visiting colleges, she should be sure to look into a campus day care center. Many institutions offer these facilities for employees and students, and this could be a fabulous way to reduce costs when the kids simply have to come with their mom.

Another tip is to reach out to friends and family and try to organize her schedule around her children's school day. There will be a few times where class will run late or a mother will be preparing for an exam, so it's vital to have a backup plan in place.

College is a huge investment, but finding the right balance can help mothers reduce their childcare expenses and help them realize their career aspirations.
