Finding time to study as a single mom

Working towards your degree as a single mom? This can be a stressful time if you have to worry about your family, work and staying on top of your assignments all at the same time. Always check with your school to see if they have financial aid for moms like yourself. Once you've found college scholarships to help with class costs, you'll need to plan ahead to to get your school work done. Enforcing positive study tips will help you succeed in your goal of earning a college degree.

Study tips for busy moms:

  -Hit the books during naps. If your child is younger and still takes one or two naps a day, make an effort to keep the TV off to buckle down and study during these kid-free times.
  -Prepare while kids are away. When little ones are at school, try completing assignments when distractions are minimal.
  -Find a common study partner. Ask if anyone in your class or any of your friends with kids would want to take turns watching each others' children, leaving time for both you and your friend to study.

Whatever method you find works for you, stick with it to reach your goal of earning a college degree. You'll wind up doing something fantastic for yourself and achieving a goal your kids will be proud of.
