Start a new career by heading back to school

August 22, 2011

As a mother, being stuck in a job you don't like and having to deal with the hard work that comes with parenting can be too much to bear. However, it's never too late to put yourself out there and find a career path that will make you happy.

Start by going to a career counselor. This advisor will be able to find a perfect match for your skills and long-term goals. He or she will be able to give you some insight about markets that are hiring and the wide range of opportunities that each one holds.

Once you've narrowed down your choice, don't start searching for college scholarships just yet. Expand your research to see if you can find people who are currently working in the field to see what your day-to-day life will look like.

If you're confident that this new career is a path that you want to take, there's nothing holding you back! There's no sense in going to a job that you don't like, so take the initiative upon yourself to head back to school and make your career dreams a reality.
