Bonding with your children as you go back to school

September 9, 2011

You may start thinking about going back to school around the time your kids head off to college. While it might be best to attend different institutions, going through the higher education experience at the same time can help you develop a stronger connection with your children.

If you never had the chance to finish your bachelor's degree or you want to get a more advanced diploma to increase your career options, start looking for scholarships for mothers and grants for parents to help you fund your education.

Once you begin your degree program, you may find that getting used to the classroom environment after such a long break might take a bit of time. Remember that your family is there as a support system, and reach out to your kids as you tackle large amounts of reading and regular writing assignments.

Exchange stories about your college experience and support your children as they adjust to a new environment as well. Sharing life changing moments will help your family form memories that will last a lifetime.
