University of Arizona program shows that colleges are responding to needs of student mothers

Being a mother and juggling the responsibilities of a degree program can be a harrowing experience, but colleges across the country have begun to respond to the needs of these students to make their lives easier when on campus. The University of Arizona is just one institution that has made a commitment to these student mothers, according to the Daily Wildcat.
The college has offered a number of helpful resources for mothers who have enough on their minds with a degree program and fulfilling their obligations to their children. The university offers a hospice service for employees and students that will provide an in-home doctor when a child becomes sick, so these individuals don't have to go scrambling to find a babysitter.
Day care facilities are also available at many colleges for mothers with small children, which could be another factor that can inform their decision when choosing a college.
Child care is a huge concern for mothers wishing to head to college, but finding the requisite funding in college scholarships and grants should be another primary concern to help reduce the cost of tuition.
