Set aside a day for yourself to handle the workload of motherhood and college
October 6, 2011
Balancing motherhood and a college degree program may be one of the most difficult times of your life, but it's a sacrifice of time and effort that will surely pay off in the long run. You'll be scrambling to be there for your kids and get your work done, so why not reward your hard work with a day for yourself.
Pick a day of the week to dedicate to yourself. For instance, if you pick a Tuesday, be sure to get some extra work done on Monday evening and during the day on Wednesday so you can afford some time to yourself.
The flexibility of a college schedule can help to make this a reality. You can plan one day a week where you can relax or catch up with tasks around the house. Everyone needs a breather once in a while, so this day to yourself may make life a bit less stressful.
Before you take the plunge into a degree program, be sure to look into college scholarships, grants and other forms of financial aid that can significantly reduce your higher education expenses.
