Going back to school is the first step toward a new career

August 29, 2011

Mothers who have found themselves in a career that has seen a drop in employment opportunities due to a sluggish economy may be weighing the pros and cons of trying something new. There’s no sense in staying in a field that won’t help you stay afloat, so if there’s something out there you’ve always wanted to try, now is the perfect time to pursue it.

The first step of the process is to research the business sectors that are hiring. Healthcare, tech services and business management are all fields that always seem to need more workers, no matter what state the economy is in.

Next, finding the appropriate funding for your education is essential to avoid having to pay back thousands in student loans. Research college scholarships and grants for parents on the federal, state and local levels that will help you cover significant costs over the course of your schooling.

When this is in place, you can work at your own pace to complete your degree. This will give you time to spend with your family while you work to complete your program.
