More middle-aged adults are heading to college than ever before, so what are you waiting for?
October 6, 2011
There has been a major shift in the world of higher education and college isn't a playground for students 25 and under anymore. According to the National Center for Educational Statistics, between 2000 and 2009, the enrollment of students 25 and over rose 43 percent and showcases the stunning trend of people realizing their career aspirations.
There are many reasons why people would decide to return to college, whether it is increased earning potential, a change of careers or simply the self-confidence that comes with completing a degree. Whatever the reason, a degree program is becoming increasingly necessary to get one's foot inside the door for a job interview.
College has also become increasingly affordable over the past decade. College scholarships, grants, student loans and other forms of financial aid can drastically reduce a person's expenses and make a degree program a reality.
With more and more adults heading to college to realize their true potential, there's no reason to wait on the sidelines. It could be the drastic step that changes people's lives for the better and helps them pursue their passions.
