For mothers who are looking to break from their domestic lives and further their education, it's never too late to go finish their degree, start a new career or become financially independent. No matter what stage of life you find yourself in, ensuring that your education is properly funded should be your first concern.

There are a number of federal and state grants that could help you access the necessary funding to jump start your degree program. Additionally, many campuses offer work-study programs that allow you to take some classes and help out the university at the same time. Grants for parents and other forms of financial aid are available, so it's simply a matter of doing the research and having the strength to see it through.

Scholarships for mothers are another wonderful option to consider. Many organizations around the country are aware of the difficulties of balancing work life and parenting, and they offer a number of programs that will get your foot in the door. Knowledge is key in all phases of this endeavor, so leave no stone unturned when you're looking for college scholarships.
