Following your interests could lead to a successful career

August 16, 2011

Many women who left prosperous careers to become stay-at-home moms may feel like they have moved on from their previous professions and are looking for something new. The best way to find out what you really want to do is to embrace change and get yourself out there to experience a wide range of possibilities.

If you're a fitness guru, consider going back to school to become a personal trainer. In addition to taking classes, pick the brain off your teacher. Speaking to the people that do it every day will give you a window into the realities of the field.

Good listeners are hard to come by. If this is your strong suit, consider becoming a family counselor or a social worker. After raising a family yourself, this could be a great way to channel all the skills you've learned.

Of course, these are only a few possibilities for mothers looking to go back to college. Before you start searching for college scholarships and visiting schools, brainstorm some ideas for your next career path.
