Employers list in-demand degrees

November 2, 2011

A college education is important now more than ever. According to the U.S. Department of Education, "In the coming decade, individuals with professional certificates and postsecondary education degrees at the associate, bachelor's and graduate levels are projected to continue to experience higher levels of employment and wage growth than those without."

But what type of jobs are most in-demand now? A recent survey conducted by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) finds that individuals with business, engineering and computer sciences degrees are being sought out by many employers. More than half of the employers taking part in NACE's Job Outlook 2012 survey identified graduates in these discipline areas as their hiring focus.

Federal and state grants, as well as thousands of college scholarships are available to help individuals going back to school fund their education. These funds will require significant research to find and apply for, but they could drastically reduce costs. Whether you want to further an education you began before motherhood or if you want to pursue a new passion, financial aid for moms can make your dreams a reality.
