College isn’t as expensive as you may think!

August 31, 2011

While private colleges and Ivy League schools may charge outrageous amounts for tuition, there are many cost-effective options that can make your dreams a reality as a mother heading back to school to increase your earning potential and realize your career aspirations.

Community colleges and state schools may not have the storied reputation of some private institutions, but they are still viable options for those looking to change careers and get their foot in the door at an interview.

College scholarships are one of the most important sources of funding for new students, and they can be found on local, state and federal levels. It will take a significant amount of time to research and write application essays, but any bit of funding can help ease the financial burden of higher education.

Finally, grants for parents at the state and federal level have received a boost in funding over the past few years. These grants don't need to be paid back and they are perfect options for low-income families who need that extra bit of cash to get into their degree programs.
