Mothers who have made the commitment to head back to college have a wide range of choices available to them when choosing a career path. Graduate school students should choose a degree based on what makes them happy, instead of going into an industry that could get them a job faster, according to CNBC.
Recent figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics have found that the three fastest growing job sectors in the country are healthcare, technical services and education. While earning a degree in one of these fields could be advantageous to finding a position, if a person isn't meant for the job it can cause a harried career transition down the road.
"Choosing a career based on what's 'hot' right now is one of the biggest myths of career planning," Dawn Rosenberg McKay, the author of Guide to Career Planning at About.com. "The career has to be suitable for the individual, while also having a promising future."
Graduate school is a big decision, so before starting the college scholarship process, prospective students need to be absolutely sure that this is the path they want to take.
