Mothers who have recently been through the ringer during the end of a relationship probably have a million things going through their minds. This is a unique opportunity to get a fresh start in many facets of your life, and it could be a chance for you to pursue your passions and head to college.

One of the first steps that any prospective college student should take is investigating the many financial aid, college scholarship and grants for parents opportunities that are available. This will require a good amount of painstaking research and writing your fair share of application essays, but it can help to drastically reduce the cost of tuition.

Contacting a career counselor is another great step. Heading to college is a huge commitment, so making sure you've chosen a field that you can be happy with will lead to many fruitful opportunities down the road.

Divorce or the end of a long relationship is the perfect time to get your priorities in order. Maybe now is the perfect time to head to college and pursue the career you've always dreamed of.
