Prepping for your graduate school entrance exam

August 18, 2011

Not only is the college scholarship process difficult in its own right, the anxiety that precedes a GRE or similar graduate school entrance exam can be daunting for many individuals as well. In particular, mothers who are looking to head back to college may need to brush up on their verbal and math skills.

One of the easiest ways to get a head start on your entrance exam is to invest in literature that will help you get a feel for the format of the test. Many of these books contain sample questions and writing prompts that will allow you to practice much of the material that has appeared on previous exams.

Another option is to take a prep course. These can be found at community colleges and public centers around your area, so look online to find times that can work for you. Being in an academic environment again could help to put you in the studious mindset required to complete your degree.

By staying ahead of the game when it comes to searching for college grants, scholarships for parents and your preliminary entrance exams, you'll be more than ready to tackle the rigors of your new degree program.
