Most mothers are predisposed to being good students
August 11, 2011
Being a mother is a 24/7 job, so if you think you won't be able to handle the rigors of a degree program and taking care of a family, you're selling yourself short! The traits that come with being a good mother easily translate to student life, so there should be nothing stopping you from heading back to school.
First off, mothers are built to multitask. By juggling two or three kids' schedules and making sure they are out the door in the morning, you've already shown that you can handle the changing landscape of a degree program. Mothers are also excellent problem solvers and can manage any unexpected scenarios that could arise in college.
Lastly, most mothers are inherently responsible and take their obligations seriously. This can help them navigate the college scholarship and application process and see their program all the way to the end. So don't fret about the difficulty of going back to earn your degree. As a mother, you have a unique set of skills that will shine through as you work to further your education.
