Now that more grants for parents are becoming available to adults who want to finish obtaining an education, many people are returning to school. However, not everyone believes that the cost of college is eventually balanced out by a career earned with a degree.
That being said, the statistics in favor of getting a higher education continue to grow. The Christian Science Monitor reports that those who earn a degree are less likely to rely on government assistance programs, saving thousands of dollars throughout their lifetime. Going to college can also yield more tax revenue.
In today's world, having a degree under your belt is also a necessity for most careers. Many employers specifically look for people who have a college education to fill demanding positions. With a degree, you can improve your chances of getting your dream job and making a sustainable income.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that in 2011, those with a bachelor's degree made approximately $1,053 weekly. Individuals with only a high school diploma brought home $638. With scholarships for moms, you can earn a degree and increase your odds of landing a high-salary job.
