The viability of federal grants for your college education

September 8, 2011

While college scholarships are one of the ideal forms of funding for your college education, these shouldn't be your only focus during the application process. Federal grants are one of the best options for mothers and single parents, and they are there for the taking for those who are committed to doing the requisite research.

One of the first things that any mother heading back to school should do is fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This will put you in the running for Pell Grants and other forms of federal aid that can help ease the debt of college tuition.

There are also a number of institutional grants for parents and single parent grants that are provided by a number of organizations all around the country. The key is setting aside the time to find these grants online and then writing applications to convince committees that you are worthy of their investment.

College is more affordable than ever with the many forms of financial aid available. If you've been mulling over the idea of furthering your career, there's no better time than the present to realize your true potential.
