North Park University offering nonprofit management degree online
August 21, 2012
Now that more grants for parents and scholarships for moms are becoming available, more adults are enrolling in accredited online schools to earn their degrees. This option allows nontraditional students to work at their own pace while keeping up with responsibilities at home.
For parents, accredited internet-based programs allow them to spend more time with their children as they complete their coursework. More postsecondary institutions are creating online degree programs and undergraduate courses to cater to this growing demand.
Recently, North Park University announced that it will begin offering a nonprofit management degree online to students who want to earn an education over the internet.
"What is different about our program is that we have a real-world component, and a real-world focus about not-for-profit management," Pamela Ransom, chair of the school's nonprofit management and criminal justice majors said.
Whether you earn your degree online or on campus, one thing is for sure - a bachelor's degree can yield a higher salary. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that in 2011, those with a bachelors degree brought up approximately $1,053 each week compared to people with a high school diploma who made $638.
