Grants for single mothers are viable sources of college financing

September 6, 2011

Single mothers are a source of strength for their families, and their long list of responsibilities may make college seem like a pipe dream. However, there are countless grants for parents and single parent scholarships out there that can help make higher education a reality.

There are many organizations that have made it their mission to provide financing to single mothers who otherwise wouldn't be able to go back to school. These grants require a good amount of research and an application essay tailored to each initiative, so setting aside the time to do everything necessary is a major part of prepping for college.

Institutional grants are also available. For example, there are some colleges that can provide a computer to help a mother complete her studies. This is one of many programs that can help single mothers complete their educations and avoid one less major purchase.

There are countless grants and scholarships out there, but it takes the desire and drive to make the time for a degree program and make one's dreams a reality.
