While these individuals may purport themselves to be great resources who can help you find sources of funding and increase your chances of landing scholarships, many of them are just a waste of money.
Most people are looking for college scholarships as a way to cut their costs when they head off to school, so what sense does it make to hire someone to do the work for you when these funding sources should be free?
This could be a great life lesson when you're getting ready to apply for college. No one is going to be able to do the work for you when you get into school, so this could be a great way to get started off on the right foot. After all, it's far more satisfying when you succeed at something you did yourself, so there's no point in outsourcing your college financial preparations when a bit of hard work and perseverance can make it a reality.
