Older college students are going to college in larger numbers

Mothers who want to head back to college to complete their bachelor's degree or receive a higher level of specialization may think they'll feel out of place when they get on campus. However, according to the National Center for Education, between 2000 and 2009, the number of students over age 25 has increased by 43 percent.
According to the Huffington Post, the U.S. Department of Education found that 25 percent of college students in 2010 were over the age of 30. More universities are seeing the untapped potential of people who want to head back to school after their kids are out of the house or have a desire to change careers, so the environment is increasingly open to an older age group.
Additionally, the many college funding options, such as college scholarships, grants and financial aid, have made higher education more affordable than ever. Age should never be a factor when you're trying to follow your true passion - if anything, you will be thrust into an environment with people that are trying to do the same thing you are!
