Meal planning can save moms time while in school

August 15, 2012

As a mom, things can get hectic around the house in between taking care of the kids and working on a degree. Now that more scholarships for moms are becoming available, more parents are going back to school. However, this means less time to take care of matters at home, including meals.

One way to ensure that your family is still eating healthy on a regular basis is to handle your meals ahead of time. Meal planning might seem like a hassle in itself, but it can save you an ample amount of time and effort in the future.

MealsMatter.org recommends seeing where you can cut corners when it comes to creating dishes. For instance, you may be able to save time on preparation and keep a few extra dollars in your wallet by using frozen or canned items to make your family's dinner.

Before grocery shopping, make a list of exactly what you need. On a Sunday, prepare your meals and seal them in your refrigerator for later use.

Luckily, grants for parents now give moms one less thing to worry about during the week as they earn a degree - finances.
