It’s possible to be a good student and a good mother

October 28, 2011

If you're a mother who's been mulling over the idea of heading to college to earn your degree, you may think that this could put a significant strain on your relationship with your children. It's true that you will have a lot more on your plate, but the flexibility of a college schedule will allow you to get your work done and fulfill your obligations to your children.

Now that the academic year is underway, it's fairly easy to structure your college schedule around your child's school day. You can do the majority of your classes in the morning and leave the rest of your afternoon to commit to reading and doing some extra work, while still being around when your child comes home.

Colleges around the country have also responded to the needs of working adults by offering night, weekend and online classes. These expanded offerings can make it easier to find some spare time to complete a few extra credits.

With the wide variety of college scholarships and grants available, now is as good a time as ever to pursue your passions and create a better life for your family.
