Colleges are responding to the needs of working adults

October 26, 2011

Colleges around the country have been responding to the growing number of adults who would like to further their education or get into the college classroom for the first time. According to The Morning Call, colleges in Pennsylvania such as Penn State University, Cedar Crest and DeSales University have expanded their options to meet the needs of working adults.

These colleges have expanded their online offerings, and have begun to create night and weekend classes for working adults. With so many individuals balancing a working life and trying to advance in their career, this is great news for people who have been trying to pack everything into their work week.

Experts believe that the influx of adult college students may soon outnumber the amount of traditional students that are coming out of high school. While the recession has certainly boosted these numbers, the importance of a college degree in landing a steady job is more important than ever.

These adult students also have a wide variety of college scholarships and grants available to them to help ease the financial burden of higher education.
