An associate degree could help you land a better job

September 30, 2011

If you're the kind of person who has been working multiple jobs and trying everything to make ends meet, college is probably something that has crossed your mind. A four-year program can be a huge commitment, so if you're looking to get ahead and cut your costs, an associate degree could be a great choice.

These degrees are offered by most community colleges, junior colleges and some four-year universities. They cover a wide range of disciplines from mechanical engineering to nursing to public service and these industries are constantly growing and hiring.

Best of all, most associate degrees only take two years to complete, which could spare you thousands in tuition costs and other higher education expenses. Many of these degrees are also offered by online learning schools, so you can work at your own pace to complete your program from the comfort of your home.

There are also a wealth of college scholarships, federal grants and other forms of financial aid available that can reduce the cost of tuition and help you hit the ground running when you've chosen the perfect program.
