A career test may point you in the right direction

October 31, 2011

As a working adult, you've gone through the ringer to earn your degree and break into a chosen field, but sometimes even the career you've worked so hard to achieve may seem stale after a few years. If you're in the need of a change and have no idea where to start, there are a number of services that a career counselor can help you with to point you in the right direction.

Career counselors are fabulous resources when you're looking to break out of your current field, and many of them offer a career test to get a sense of your skills and interests. While these exams aren't an exact science, they can reveal some helpful information about where your career should be headed.

If you find that heading back to school is the ideal option, a career counselor will be able to direct you to many college scholarships and grants that can help reduce the cost of your tuition.

Change is never easy, but if you need to break out of the doldrums of your chosen field, it's never too late to find a career that you'll be excited about each and every morning.
